In the production line, the belt conveyor is one of the most common tools for conveying tobacco (silk). In the process of changing the conveyor belt of the belt conveyor, due to the lack of special tools, the maintenance personnel should first pull the old conveyor belt out of the belt conveyor, and then replace the new conveyor belt while pulling out the old conveyor belt, and put in a large manpower (requires 8 Personal), it takes a long time (about 2 hours on average), and sometimes it needs to work at heights, which poses a safety hazard.

According to the actual requirements such as the installation height of the belt conveyor in the silk-making workshop, the designed tooling should have the following characteristics: (1) It can effectively reduce the manpower input and improve the replacement efficiency; (2) Replace the conveyor belt within the limit height range of the belt machine installation; (3) It can complete the bonding work of the old and new belt conveyors on the ground, and eliminate the safety hazards existing in the belt conveyor belt replacement process; (4) It can move easily.


Design


Using 50×50mm and 40×40mm square tubes (Fig. 1), the main bracket of the tooling is made by welding, the bracket for placing the new conveyor belt is installed in the U-shaped groove of the main bracket, and the bracket for placing the bonding machine is embedded in the main bracket. They are fixed by two M16 screws, and the handle on the main bracket can realize the convenient movement of the tooling.


The specific use method is shown in Figure 2. The new conveyor belt is wound on the conveyor belt bracket, and the bonding machine bracket is embedded in the main bracket. After adjusting the height of the bracket according to the height of the belt conveyor, it is fixed by M16 screws. The bonding machine is placed on the bonding machine bracket, and the old conveyor belt is first cut at an appropriate position. One end of the old conveyor belt is glued together with the new conveyor belt by the conveyor belt bonding machine, and the other end is after starting the speed reducer. A new belt can be replaced by a maintenance worker while the old belt is pulled out, and the new belt is replaced with a belt conveyor.

After replacing the tooling with the conveyor belt, the replacement work of the conveyor belt can be completed by 2 people, and the average time is reduced from 2 hours to 1 hour, which successfully achieves the purpose of cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and also eliminates the work caused by the aerial work.
